First arrest announced in parish anti-litter effort

The first arrest in the “Stow It, Don’t Throw It” was made by St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz in a June 18 news release. George Harris Sr., 61, of the 1400 block of Veazie Road, Palmetto, is charged with gross littering, a misdemeanor. Guidroz stated that on May 16 the St.

Texas man faces domestic charge

Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a Texas man on multiple charges related to a domestic disturbance that occurred at 6:31 a.m. Sunday. Deputies determined that the suspect and victim had been residing together for several years.
