Fugitive captured in Texas

A St. Landry Parish fugitive was captured in Houston, Texas, by the U.S. Marshal’s Violent Offender Task Force, according to Sheriff Bobby Guidroz.
After a man was shot in the parking lot of Eunice business in the 600 block of East Laurel Avenue on Friday night, police were left with few clues to the shooter.  Eunice Police Chief Kyle LeBouef stated police were dispatched the scene at 9:49 p.m. in reference to shots fired.

Eunice projects are in state capital outlay budget

Several Eunice projects are in the state capital outlay budget including $1,320,000 for renovations to the Eunice City Jail and Police Department. Rep. Phillip DeVillier, who is House speaker, cautioned in a text the expenditures in House Bill 2 are not final until Gov. Jeff Landry approves them.
