Decisions handed down on first degree murder cases from Evangeline Parish

The Third Circuit Court of Appeal in Lake Charles handed down Wednesday opinions in two first degree murder cases on appeal from Evangeline Parish.

Kiwanis Christmas parade set Thursday The annual Kiwanis Christmas parade will be at 5 p.m. Thursday. An award will be given for best float. At the conclusion of the parade, there will be cookies and punch with Santa and Mrs. Claus at the city hall’s lobby area. Line up is set for 4 p.m.

Turkey drawing winners named

Twenty-six turkeys were given away in The Eunice News’ turkey contest. Winners should claim their vouchers at The Eunice News and redeem turkeys at Champagnes. The deadline to redeem the vouchers is Nov. 30. Thanksgiving turkey winners are: Lucille Bertrand, E. B.
