OPELOUSAS — The St. Landry Parish School Board will continue a discussion about a plan to raise employee salaries and make capital improvements funded by a property tax.
Superintendent Patrick Jenkins presented a proposal to the Board’s Executive Committee meeting Monday.
Wednesday night’s Taster’s Choice signaled the start of Mardi Gas festivities in Eunice.
But the party kicks into high gear at 7 p.m. Friday when Wayne Toups launches the live bands on 2nd Street that continue through Tuesday evening.
French Table discussion set Friday
The LSUE OLLI will have a French Table at 9 a.m. Friday in the Community Education Building, Room 117 at LSUE.
The topic of discussion will be celebrate Mardi Gras by wearing or showing costumes. And also a discussion of how Mardi Gras was celebrated years ago.
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announced that effective Monday the westbound right lane of US 190 (Laurel Street), between 9th Street and 10 Street, will be closed for emergency roadway repairs.
The work is expected to be completed by Thursday, weather permitting.
