The Eunice Police was dispatched at 9:49 p.m. Friday to the 600 block of East Laurel, Hwy. 190, in reference to shots fired. Upon arrival, officers observed the parking lot of the business to be empty with the exception of one vehicle unoccupied.

Louisiana legislators voted to give $3.5 million in state funds to LSU to purchase a horse facility which the university did not request. The money will go toward the purchase of the 200-acre Copper Crowne Equestrian Center in Opelousas.
