School Bd. completes $103M ESSER funding

Out of about $103 million available to the St. Landry Parish School Board in ESSER (Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief) funds, only $1.4 million was left on the table, according to a report at Monday’s Committee of the Whole meeting.

Queen Cinema is a family affair

It’s a family affair at the Queen Cinema now. Linus Jordan, Marcia Denise Jordan Gordan, Roxanne Jordan Dukes and James “Peaches” Jordan, all siblings, are the new owners of the Queen Cinema. Linus Jordan was the guest speaker Wednesday at the Rotary Club meeting, and the guest of Rotarian Dr.

Council agrees to buy former golf course, old Lawtell High School

The St. Landry Parish Council agreed to buy the former Indian Hills Country Club in Opelousas and the abandoned Lawtell High School during a special meeting on Wednesday.
