Lady Jays fall in district finale

Catholic High of Pointe Coupee claimed its 10th straight district title as the Lady Hornets grabbed a 8-1 win Wednesday over the St. Edmund Lady Jays. St. Ed’s threatened in the first when Kennedy Ardoin reached on an error and Jenna Smith singled but the Lady Jays failed to score.

Lady Bengals grab sweep

LSU Eunice softball thrived in all three phases of the game as the Bengals took a doubleheader sweep of Galveston College. The Lady Bengals (28-12) swept back-to-back twinbills for the first time this season.

LCA holds off Blue Jays

Lafayette Christian Academy jumped out to a 6-0 lead but the Blue Jays battled before the Eagles earned a 7-4 win over St. Edmund. LCA (22-2) scored a run in the top of the first when Brylan Green walked and crossed home plate on hit by Cael Zeringue.

St. Ed’s rolls past Sacred Heart

St. Edmund cruised to a 12-3 tennis win over rival Sacred Heart of Ville Platte. The Blue Jays went 4-0 in boys singles, led by a Pierson Brown’s 8-0 win over SHVP’s Cole Fontenot. Ross Fontenot earned a 8-0 win over Sacred Heart’s Ben Manuel. Blake Summerlin grabbed a 8-0 win over Gabe Fontenot.

BATON ROUGE – LSU Eunice used a standout day from Peyton LeJeune to pave the way towards a sweep of Baton Rouge CC at Southern University's Lee-Hines Stadium. The Bengals (35-3) scored their ninth doubleheader sweep of the season.

Rice City gymnasts head to regional competition in Georgia

Rice City Gymnastics of Crowley had twelve of their gymnasts in Xcel Silver and Gold compete at the upper-level state meet in Westwego, last weekend.
