Deoradine Fruge

BASILE~It is with great sadness that the family of Deoradine Fruge announces her passing on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Resthaven Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Lake Charles. She was 82.

Michelle Duplechin Lee

Michelle Duplechin Lee, 57, passed away on January 14, ending a five-year battle with cancer at MD Anderson. She is survived by her loving husband, John W. Lee, and her two sisters, Deborah Duplechin Harkins, wife of Dr. I. N. “Corky” Harkins and Rene Duplechin Garland, wife of Eric Garland.

March for Life walk set Tuesday at noon The annual March for Life walk will be held at noon Tuesday, Jan. 22. The public is invited. Marchers for life will meet at N. 2nd St. nearby Picous’ and walk to City Hall parking lot area for a time of prayer and reflection.

La. rice industry gives $1M for research
