Interim LSUE Chancellor Dr. William Crowe is taking the long view of his job that began Dec. 3. Crowe, 65, came out of retirement to take the chancellor’s job after Kimberly Russell left to become vice president for advancement at Texas Woman’s University.

St. Landry Parish sales tax revenues rose 4.5% in 2018 over 2017

Total St. Landry Parish sales tax revenue rose 4.5 percent in 2018 over the 2017 total, according to statistics released by the St. Landry Parish School Board Sales Tax Division. The year-end tally was $68,841,515, up $2,973,612 over the 2017 total.

Neighborhood watch meeting planned at Liberty

Evelyn Stafford went home to be with Jesus at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, January 15th, at the age of 93. Evelyn was born on August 27, 1925 in Mowata, Louisiana. She graduated from Crowley High School and received a BS in Nursing from Louisiana State University.

Tips sought in Grand Coulee Road burglary

Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives are investigating a burglary which occurred during the night of Jan. 8 in the 2100 block of Grand Coulee Road in Northern Acadia Parish.
