Eunice Police arrests

The following are arrests by Eunice Police. Jan. 15 Jordan Scott Arnaud, 29, 100 block of Acadia Street, Eunice. Two bench warrants. Cannon Hughes, 33, 600 block of South 6th Street, Eunice. Unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Brandon Michael Holden, 24, 200 block of East Dean, Eunice.

Robert "Bob" Amon Morris

Robert “Bob” Amon Morris passed away on Monday, January 7, 2019, at the age of 65. A Memorial Service is scheduled for Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 1:00 PM at New Hope Fellowship Church in Eunice. Pastor Dennis Gotreaux will officiate.

Marguerite Broussard Pousson

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 pm Friday, Jan. 11, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iota for Marguerite Broussard Pousson, 78, who passed away Jan. 9, 2019, in Egan. Fr. Jude Thierry, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, will be officiating for the services.

James Edward Landry

Mr. James Edward Landry, 76, was a resident of Crowley and departed this life on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2019, in Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette. James was born on June 13, 1942, in Jennings, to the late Hellen Bossette and Terrence Landry.

Musical line-up for Frog Festival announced

RAYNE - The schedule for musical entertainment at the upcoming 47th annual Rayne Frog Festival planned May 9-11, as announced by festival chairman Jeremy Lavergne. Contracts have been signed and the line-up is set with the 2019 line-up seeing an expanded list of musical attractions.

Rayne Planning, Zoning Commission approves variance, votes on chair

RAYNE - A brief meeting was held Monday, Jan. 7, by the Rayne Planning Commission at City Hall. In attendance for the meeting were Planning Commission members Wayne Wyatt, Ron Sonnier, Jerry Bergeron and Chairman Lee Seilhan. Planning Commission member Sanders Senegal was not in attendance.
