Eunice Police arrests

The following are arrests by Eunice Police. Nov. 17 Mark Keith Fontenot, 49, 2300 block of 12th Street, Lake Charles. Simple battery. Chasity Manuel, 33, 200 block of 3rd Street, Mamou. Probation violation. Kaley Denee Andrus, 25, 200 block of Shelton Manuel Road, Eunice. Money warrant.

Steven Glynn Hoffpauir

Steven Glynn Hoffpauir Sr. passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2017, at the age of 57. No services have been scheduled at this time. Steven is survived by his wife; Cynthia Hoffpauir of Eunice, four sons; Steven Hoffpauir Jr. of Crowley, La.

Rayne Council eyes fees for public records requests

During an otherwise routine meeting Monday night, the Rayne City Council proposed an ordinance which would establish an intricate fee schedule for public records requests. “All this is based on the fee schedules used by the state,” explained Mayor Charles “Chuck” Robichaux.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, Nov. 20, 2017, at 10 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church for Beverly Deville, 91, who died Friday, Nov. 17, 2017, at 8:08 a.m. at Encore Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Crowley.

Moody, other philanthropists honored

The Community Foundation of Acadiana held the 2017 Leaders in Philanthropy Awards during a luncheon at the Cajundome Convention Center on Thursday. Residents from the eight Acadiana parishes were honored for the success that their lifetimes of generosity helped to create.

Victim beats robbery Church Point suspect

Deputies with the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at 8:37 a.m. on Friday. The Nov. 17 incident occurred in the 100 block of Gayle Drive near Church Point. Thus far the investigation reveals that the suspect entered the residence armed with a shotgun.
