Parish early childhood program rated ‘Proficient’

Every early pre-kindergarten program at 19 St. Landry Parish elementary schools ranked “Proficient” in the school performance scores released in November. The early childhood education program was discussed at a meeting of the School Board’s Academic Committee meeting Tuesday.

Unemployment rates in the Tri-Parish area and for the state improved in October, according to a Louisiana Workforce Commission report citing federal Bureau of Labor & Statistics.

Circle Park improvements in the works; splash pads likely
