Authorities are seeking the public’s help to find a suspect wanted on a murder charge in connection with the shooting death of man Tuesday night in Amelia.

Community Concert celebrates 70th year

The Community Concert Association of Morgan City celebrated its 70th anniversary season on Monday with a cutting of the cake prior to the 3 Redneck Tenors concert at the Morgan City Municipal Auditorium. Three concerts remain in the 2017-18 season.

Cecilia Water faces class action suit

Plaintiffs in a lawsuit against the Cecilia Water Corporation (CWC) have received certification allowing the suit to proceed with class action status. A petition by the group, Cajuns for Clean Water LLC, seeking class status was granted by 16th Judicial District Judge Paul J. deMahy on Sept. 25.

New hours for city museums

The City of St. Martinville has announced new hours for its Cultural Heritage Center and Acadian Memorial effective today (Nov. 1). Both the Center, which houses the African American Museum and Museum of the Acadiana Memorial, and the Acadian Memorial will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
