Cleco issues statement as Tropical Storm Harvey approaches

Pineville, La., Aug. 29, 2017 – Tropical Storm Harvey is expected to make landfall south of Lake Charles on Wednesday morning and exit the northeast corner of Louisiana by Thursday night. This projection puts five of Cleco’s operating regions in the path of the storm.

Weather update: Expect rain

Harvey is a weak tropical storm, moving northeast towards the southwest Louisiana coast. Landfall projection is Wednesday morning in Cameron Parish as a tropical storm.

U.S. representative cancels town hall in Ville Platte

Citing unpredictable weather conditions caused by Hurricane Harvey, 4th District U.S. Rep. Mike Johnson. cancelled his previously scheduled town hall in Evangeline Parish. The meeting was meant to take place this Wednesday in Ville Platte.

UL Lafayette closed Tuesday

Based on the overnight shift in the path of Tropical Storm Harvey, the University of Louisiana at Lafayette will be closed on Tuesday, Aug. 29. Essential personnel are required to check in with supervisors for assignments.
