The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. August 30 Dedrick James Vigers, Sr., 48, 400 block of Charmaine Avenue, Eunice. Bench warrant (2 counts), domestic abuse battery (child endangerment). Arrested by Eunice Police. Joseph Vallier, Jr.

Joseph “Cliff” Clifton Delafosse, Jr.

Joseph “Cliff” Clifton Delafosse, Jr. passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at the age of 78. A Private Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Kerry Kim Moreau

BASILE–It is with heavy hearts the family of Kim Moreau announces his passing on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at his home at the age of 63. Visitation and Memorial Service are pending and will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Basile.

Jack Phillip Koerner

Jack Phillip Koerner passed away on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at the age of 73. No Services have been planned at this time.

Pamela “Pam” Ann Prather

Pam was born August 30, 1966 to the late Earlyn and Jeanelle Carrier of Eunice, LA. Pam has resided in Newport, Tn. for the last 31 years. She loved sitting outside on her porch with her dogs and watching her grandchildren play. She loved going to her farm to see her horses and loved to read.

Bobbie Jean Davis Guillory

Bobbie Jean Davis Guillory passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at the age of 84. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with Father Sam Fontana Celebrant. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Eunice Police Arrests report

The following are arrests by Eunice Police. August 28 Brandon Louis, 32, 500 block of Halsey, Eunice. Bench warrant. Tyler Murphy, 26, 1000 block of Samuel Drive, Eunice. Probation warrant. Juvenile, 12, Eunice. Disturbing the peace, resisting an officer, remaining after being forbidden.

St. Landry Parish President Jessie Bellard wins qualification case and re-election

St. Landry Parish President Jessie Bellard won a court case Monday morning that disqualified challenger Richard Lewis in the October election for parish president. Bellard challenged Lewis’ candidacy stating Lewis did not file state taxes in 2021 and 2022.
