Mamou man arrested for aggravated arson

The State Fire Marshal’s Office has arrested a Mamou man for allegedly setting fire to one house which spread to a neighboring house with someone inside at the time of the fire.

Smoke in the air coming from Sabine Parish fire

By late morning smoke was evident in Eunice. Fire Chief Chaise Brown said the smoke is coming from fires in Sabine Parish. According to The Advocate, Sabine Parish has been hit particularly hard over the past few days with about 2,000 acres burned.

3 juvenile females struck teacher

Three juvenile females were arrested after they began fighting and they fought a police officer and teacher who tried to break up the fight. The incident occurred at about 7;30 am. on Friday.
