EUNICE–Patrica Bertrand Reed, beloved wife mother, sister, grandmother and friend, passed away on August 21, 2023, at the age of 64. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice. A burial will follow in the Mt.

Pedestrian killed, another injured in Acadia Parish crash  

Shortly after 8 p.m. on Sunday, troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop I were notified of a two-vehicle crash on La. 367 near Max Road in Acadia Parish. The crash claimed the life of 21-year-old Kentaysia J. Wildridge of Crowley.

Sharral M. Perks

Sharral M. Perks, 55. died in Fredoina, Kentucky on Aug. 10. She was born Aug. 22, 1967, in Lansing, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her mother, Bessie Coward Perks, and father, James Perks, both originally from Eunice. The service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the VFW building on Bobcat Drive.

St. Landry Parish Sheriff arrests

The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. August 19-August 21 Brooke F. West, 41, 1900 block of Chemin Metairie, Youngsville. Fraudulent acquisition of a credit card, identity theft, monetary instrument abuse, exploitation of persons with infirmities.

LSU Tri-Parish graduates listed

LSU awarded 1,039 degrees to graduates at the university’s 311th commencement exercises Aug. 11, the highest number of degrees awarded during summer commencement ever. The previous record was 969 graduates in summer 2021.
