Sheriff: Drug bust is deadly, historic

The 5.2 pounds of fentanyl seized in a drug bust is enough to kill 1,250,000 people, according to St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz. The fentanyl was seized in a drug bust of Benjamin I. Pittman, 43, of the 200 block of Rue Destin, Sunset.

Kermit Joseph Clavier passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2023 at the age of 89. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30, 2023 at St. Thomas Chapel with Father Korey Lavergne Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery.

Danny Hans Koch

Danny Hans Koch, born Nov. 22, 1947, of Eunice, passed away on Thursday, March 23,2023.   Danny was preceded in death by his parents, H.E. Koch and Klara L. Koch. He was survived by Pamela M. Koch, his wife for 52 years, his sister Peggy Koch Reeves and his favorite dog “Boo”.
