Generating buzz: UL Lafayette earns Bee Campus USA designation

UL Lafayette recently became a Bee Campus USA. The Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation coordinates the national program. It recognizes colleges and universities for their commitment to providing and improving habitat for pollinators and providing service-learning opportunities for students.

Eunice Community Garden celebrates

There was a festive air at the Eunice Community Garden on Friday as the Second Harvest Makin’ Groceries Mobile Market was open for business and a crowd was present. Randy Miller, Community Garden director, said about 200 people attended the open house around noon.

Former Eunice Police officer injured

A GoFundMe account has been set up for former Eunice Police Brian Rozas who was injured Sunday while attempting to stop a vehicle in Lafayette where he works as a police officer. According to news reports, Rozas was struck by a suspect’s vehicle, which dragged him about 100 feet at about 1:20 a.m.
