Man, 19, faces 4 attempted first-degree murder counts

A 19-year-old Scott man faces four counts of attempted first-degree murder in connection with a March 2023 drive-by shooting. SaDavion Matthew George was booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail on Oct. 28 on the charges.

Motorist killed in fiery Evangeline Parish single-vehicle crash

Louisiana State Police Troop I troopers were notified a single-vehicle fatality crash on La. 95 near Brangus Road just before 9 p.m. Oct. 24. The driver’s name is being withheld until the next of kin has been notified.

Opelousas man convicted of second-degree murder

A St. Landry Parish jury returned a unanimous verdict on Oct. 25 finding Jaleel Malik Durisseau guilty for the second-degree murder of Corey Rosette Jr. On Feb.14, 2022, Rosette was found dead in his home on Nicole Lane in Opelousas from apparent gunshot wounds.
