Sheriff: Tips leads to drug bust

Narcotics detectives with the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office received information from a confidential informant that a black male, identified as Shawn Davis, would be delivering a large amount of marijuana to a local motel located on the I-49 Service Road in Opelousas on Oct.

Woman charged in infant’s death

The St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of an unresponsive infant in the Tulip Drive area on Oct. 27. Deputy Patrick Martin found persons at the scene performing CPR on an infant. Martin took over CPR while awaiting the arrival of EMS (emergency medical services).
