State Police continue investigation into fatal crash on I-49

Louisiana State Police Troop I was called to investigate a two-vehicle fatality crash on Interstate 49 about 3 miles south of La. 106 shortly after 10 p.m. Nov. 19. The crash resulted in one fatality, with the victim’s identity pending forensic identification.

As St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s narcotics detectives investigated drug possession and trafficking, Kenan Diquan Charles was observed and when approached he fled, according to a news release from Sheriff Bobby Guidroz.
