3 Lafayette men busted for conspiracy to commit armed robbery

Three Lafayette men targeted for an undercover buy of four pounds of marijuana ended up being charged with criminal conspiracy to commit armed robbery. St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz stated that on Wednesday, detectives initiated an undercover purchase of four pounds of marijuana.

Crime Stopper tip leads to drug bust

A Crime Stopper tip on June 4 led to the arrest of an Opelousas man on Thursday, Sheriff Bobby Guidroz reported. The tip was about illegal drug activity in the 1300 block of Nash Drive, Opelousas.

Eunice man’s 40-year sentence for shooting upheld

Xavier Watson was convicted of attempted second-degree murder after one hour of deliberation by a St. Landry Parish jury in February for shooting a 14-year-old twice in the abdomen on May 4, 2022. Watson appealed his conviction and on Nov. 27 the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeal rejected the appeal.
