Eunice man charged with attempted second-degree murder in domestic incident

The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Eunice man in connection with a shooting incident on Dec. 29, 2023. Deputies investigated a domestic issue between husband and wife in the 300 block of Rue Dauphine in northern Acadia Parish, according to a news release from Sheriff K.P. Gibson.

Acadia Parish sheriff explains switch to Chevrolet Tahoes

The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office is renewing its fleet of patrol units. Sheriff K.P. Gibson announced earlier this week that, in keeping with his administration’s promise to keep units on the roads patrolling the parish, a new fleet of vehicles is being purchased.

One dies in Lawtell house fire

State Fire Marshal (SFM) deputies investigated a house fire in Lawtell that claimed one life. Just after 8 a.m. on Tuesday, St. Landry Fire District 3 responded to a call for a house fire located in the 11000 block of U.S. 190 West in the Opelousas area near Lawtell.
