Bicyclist struck, killed in hit-and-run crash in St. Landry Parish

Shortly after 8:30 p.m. Friday, Louisiana State Police Troop I was notified of a hit-and-run crash involving a bicyclist that occurred on La. 103 near Alex Stoute Road, north of Port Barre. The crash claimed the life of 54-year-old Daniel Craig Leger of Port Barre.

Juvenile escapee from Eunice remains at large

St Landry Crime Stoppers needs help locating a juvenile who escaped from the St. Landry Parish Jail. During the evening hours of Jan. 19, a corrections deputy was overtaken by three juveniles that were housed together.

24 lbs. of meth seized in Acadia Parish bust

Twenty-four pound of methamphetamine with street value estimated at $200,000 was seized in a drug bust reported by Acadia Parish Sheriff KP Gibson. During an investigation, Acadia Parish sheriff’s deputies confirmed that a large amount of narcotics was being transported in Crowley.

Eunice juvenile, 15, escaped from the St. Landry Parish jail

St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s deputies are searching for a juvenile who escaped the parish jail Saturday night. The 15-year-old escaped custody around 8:15 p.m. Saturday, a press release said. He was last seen traveling west toward Eunice.
