The following are excerpts from the Eunice Police Department radio dispatch logs. Wednesday, Oct. 25 12:47 a.m. Suspicious person walking in the roadway near CC Duson. 7:00 a.m. Hit and run reported. Caller said a bus hit his vehicle and went to Eunice High.

St. Landry Parish Sheriff arrests

The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. Thursday, Oct. 26 Calvin Boagni, Jr., 44, 1600 block of Iris Drive, Opelousas. Bench warrant, possession of schedule I CDS, possession of Schedule III CDS, resisting an officer, stop sign violation.

Fires strike within an hour of each other

There were two structure fires an hour apart on Saturday. The first fire occurred at 6:36 p.m. at the intersection of Sittig and La. 3116, East Ardoin. The trailer home at 170 East Ardoin was a total loss. No one was home at the time of the fire and the cause of the fire is undetermined.

The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. Tuesday, Oct. 24 Brian Batiste, 50, 2600 block of Main Highway, Breaux Bridge. Simple burglary. Arrested by Opelousas Police. Jimmy Dale Mosbroker III, 28, 1600 block of North Green Street, Basile.

Sheriff: Victim, his mother argued, the half-brother shot him dead

A argument turned into a fatal shooting on Oct.20, according to St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz. Deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of Thibodeaux Lane in the Cankton area and found one victim with multiple gunshot wounds.
