Eunice Police Arrests report

The following are arrests by Eunice Police. Thursday, Oct. 12 Benjamin Allison Sr., 60, 100 block of Threatt, Eunice. Aggravated assault with a firearm. Dannon Fontenot, 50, 200 block of Childs, Eunice. Probation warrant. Tammie Murphy, 33, 300 block of St. Matthew Dr., Church Point.

St. Landry Parish Sheriff arrests

The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. Friday, Oct. 13 Desiree Nicole Bourgeois, 27, 300 block of Cheramie Road, Port Barre. Bench warrant, disturbing the peace, simple assault, battery of a police officer, resisting a police officer with force or violence.

Pedestrian killed on La. 10 in Evangeline Parish 

 Shortly after 8:30 p.m. Friday, Louisiana State Police Troop I responded to a single-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian on La. 10 near Tiger Lane in Evangeline Parish. The crash claimed the life of 56-year-old Christopher A. Bellard of Ville Platte.

Eunice Fireman’s Association looking for teen volunteers

Eunice Fire Department Capt. Jeremy Faulkner is launching an effort to get young people 16 years and older to train to be volunteer firefighters. Faulkner said at Tuesday’s Board of Aldermen meeting he plans to visit Eunice High School this week.

Eunice man surrenders to armed robbery charge

Eunice Police have charged a man with armed robbery at a resident on Sept. 3, according to Police Chief Kyle Lebouef. Devidre Doyle, 23, 500 block of Fred, Eunice is charged with armed robbery with use of a firearm, illegal carrying of weapon, illegal possession of firearm by convicted felon.

Driver killed in head-on crash in St. Landry Parish

A two-vehicle crash on La. 105 near Pitre Road (south of Melville) in St. Landry Parish claimed the life of 47-year-old Antoine Watts of Melville, according to a news release from Louisiana State Police Troop I. Police were notified of the wreck at about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.
