The following are arrests by Eunice Police. Thursday, Oct. 5 Mark Johnson, 43, 300 block of West Gum, Eunice. Warrant for another agency, St. Landry. Danny Rougeau, 38, 2900 block of Ruppert Lake Road, Eunice. Warrant for another agency, Acadia. Kevin Bushnell, 46, 1900 block of West Stagg, Basile.

Evangeline Parish sheriff rejects jail bids as too high

Evangeline Parish Sheriff Charles Guillory has rejected all bids for the new parish jail. The sheriff announced he, along with architect Alex Deshotel and four general contractors, opened bids for the new parish jail on September 14.

Worker rescued from auger

An employee male subject was trapped in an auger at Tri-Parish Rice Drier, located on Bacciochi Street, at about noon Friday. Eunice firefighters responded to the scene, along with St. Landry Parish Sheriff deputies and St. Landry EMS.
