Lady Cats respond in district play after non-district setback

Lady Cats drop pair despite fight against DeRidder

By Rhett Manuel Sports Editor The Eunice High Lady Cats came up short in two games last week, falling in a heartbreaking walk-off at DeRidder before dropping a home matchup to Cecilia. In Tuesday’s District 3-4A road game, Eunice pushed DeRidder to the final at-bat before suffering an 8-7 loss.
The St. Edmund Blue Jay Baseball team honored a “Championship Legacy” before Thursday’s game, March 12 against Bunkie. The 1996 St. Edmund Blue Jay State Championship Team was introduced and coaches and players that were able to attend gathered on the infield. The team, coached by Scotty Richard, was the fifth of the sixth state titles in program history. The team defeated St. John to win the 1996 title. ELTL Pitre pull ahead in week 4

The fourth week of Eunice Ladies Tennis League (ELTL) ended Tuesday evening with Team Pitre having a score of 18 and Team Simoneaux with a score of 10. On Court 1, Team Pitre’s members Sylvia Fontenot and Sydney Augustine won 6-0, 7-6 against Jamie Kirsch and Kacie West of Team Simoneaux.
