The Crowley Ladies and Westminster Christian Academy Crusaders won the 2021 Bobcat Relays held at the Eunice High athletic complex. WCA totaled 56 points, followed by Beau Chene (52), Opelousas Catholic (48), Church Point (43), Crowley (43), Pine Prairie (41), Ville Platte (37.

Eunice downs St. Edmund in tennis action

In a round-robin, Eunice High earned a 6-1 win over St. Edmund before falling 2-1 to Iota. In boys singles, Eunice’s Philippe Soileau earned an 8-1 win over Pierson Brown. In girls singles, Eunice High’s Kelly Sonnier grabbed an 8-2 victory over St. Ed’s Susannah Summerlin.

Lady Patriots down Lady Cats

The Lady Bobcats kept the game close before North Vermilion broke it open as the Lady Patriots downed Eunice 8-2 in District 4-4A play. Eunice (14-3) entertains LaGrange on Tuesday before visting Rayne on Thursday as district competition continues.

The Eunice tennis team earned a 6-2 home win over Lafayette Christian Academy on Thursday. On the boys side, LCA’s Silas Fontenot rolled to an 8-1 win over Eunice’s Philippe Soileau. Soileau responded with an 8-3 win over Caleb Fontenot, Silas’ twin brother.

The Lady Jay offense scored five runs in the fourth inning and pitcher Karleigh Soileau threw a one-hitter as St. Edmund earned a 5-0 win over Lafayette Christian Academy. With the win, St. Edmund improved to 7-0 on the season.

Lady Cats improve to 11-1 on season

The Eunice High softball improved to 11-1 on the season with a pair of one-sided wins this week. Before heading into the St. Edmund tournament this weekend, the Lady Bobcats had won 11 games in a row after the season opening 13-6 loss to Port Barre.

Young/Frey tourney set for weekend

The 20th annual John R. Young – Frey Holding Corporation baseball tournament will be held this weekend at both Eunice High and St. Edmund fields. The Bobcats will open the tournament 4:30 p.m. today against Plaquemine. Eunice will take om Kinder at 6:45 p.m.
