Raiders, WCA win parish titles

The Northwest Raiders and the Westminster Christian Academy Lady Crusaders both scored 300 points to capture the 2021 St. Landry Parish track titles. WCA won the girls parish championship with 354 points, followed by Northwest (254), Opelousas (160), J.S.

Bengals split with Galveston

GALVESTON, Texas – It was a tale of two games for LSU Eunice softball as its offense came to life in the second game against Galveston College to split its Wednesday doubleheader. It is the seventh doubleheader split of the season for the Bengals (23-11).

A girls doubles sweep helped St. Edmund earn a 5-3 tennis win over Iota. Savannah DeVillier and Greta Miller cruised to a 6-0 win over Iota’s Vanessa Doroteo and Kadence Faulk. Tanzy Miller and Ali Lantz earned a 6-1 victory over Lady Bulldogs Kiara Guidry and Tori Guidry.

In a battle between cross town rivals, St. Edmund grabbed a 7-4 tennis win over Eunice High. In girls singles, Lady Jay Susannah Summerlin battled to a 8-3 win over Eunice’s Kelly Sonnier. Lady Bobcat Chole Broussard earned a 8-5 win over St. Ed’s Helen Brown.

St. Edmund broke the game open with seven runs in the bottom of the third as the Lady Jays rolled to a 10-2 win District 5-1A over rival Sacred Heart of Ville Platte. St.

Lady Cats cruise past Rayne

RAYNE – Eunice cruised to a 9-2 win over Rayne as the Lady Cats improved to 3-1 in District 4-4A play. The Lady Cats (15-5) will entertain Westminster Christian Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Friday before facing rival Church Point at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
