Bulldogs down Albany

IOTA – The Bulldogs exploded for four runs in the first inning as No. 4 Iota opened the playoffs Monday with a 8-3 win over No. 29 Albany. Gavin Leblanc and Tyler Lejeune both walked and scored when Dawson Wallace reached on an error. Wallace would later score on a wild pitch as Iota led 3-0.

Lady Bobcats’ season ends

Belle Chasse jumped out to an early lead and then ended the Lady Bobcats season as the Lady Cardinals rolled to a 21-7 win over Eunice in the second round of the Class 4-A playoffs.

St. Ed’s shines in tennis regionals

VIDALIA – Nine St. Edmund tennis players advanced out of regionals to compete at the state tournament in Monroe. Savannah DeVillier and Greta Miller earned a 6-0, 6-2 win over Westminster Christian Academy’s Aniyah Florence and Gabrielle Scott.

Lady Bengals sweep BRCC

LSU Eunice blasted five home runs to help propel the Bengals to a doubleheader sweep of Baton Rouge Community College on Thursday. The Bengals (31-19) are ranked ninth nationally in home runs with 55 on the season.

Blue Jays celebrate Senior Night

St. Edmund finished District 5-1A play undefeated as the Blue Jays cruised to a 10-0 win over Westminster Christian Academy on senior night Thursday. Seniors honored in a pregame ceremony were Remi Guillory, Henry Brown, Wesley Drigg, Gus Brown and T.J. Deshotel.

Bobcats grab key victories

The Eunice Bobcats finished the final week of the regular season with a win over Church Point and a double header District 4-4A sweep overLa-Grange. With the wins, Eunice High head baseball coach Scott Phillips passed the 600-win mark in his career.

Margaret adds to lead

After missing a week of play because of rain, Team Margaret added to its Eunice Ladies Tennis League lead with a 12-8 win over Team Phyllis. Team Margaret holds a 126-106 advantage heading into the final week of competition.

Lady Cats grab playoff win

The Lady Bobcats advanced to the second round of the Class 4-A softball playoffs as Eunice cruised to a 18-0 win over No. 26 Eleanor McMain. The last playoff win for the Lady Cats was in 2009 when EHS grabbed a 4-0 victory over Pearl River before falling in a 1-0 heartbreaker to Sam Houston. No.

Lady Jays fall to Cedar Creek

RUSTON – The No. 11 Lady Jays saw their season end at No. 6 Cedar Creek as the Lady Cougars earned a 9-2 regional round win over St. Edmund. Cedar Creek won Division IV titles in 2018 and 2019 as well as 1995 and 1992.

North Vermilion sweeps Bobcats

In a key District 4-4A showdown, North Vermilion grabbed a two-game sweep over the Bobcats. On Sunday, the Bobcats battled, but North Vermilion rallied for an 11-4 victory. The Patriots scored in the first inning when Patin singled and crossed home plate on a double by Leblanc.
