ELTL Team Pitre wins by 2 points

The ninth week of Eunice Ladies Tennis League (ELTL) ended the evening with Team Pitre winning 10 points and Team R&B scoring 18 points. On Court 1, Team R&B members Sydney Augustine and Kacie West won in split sets 4-6, 7-6, 6-3 against Emily Francois and Tracey Brown of Team Pitre.

Time for a Saints purge

Bobcats look for a playoff berth

It doesn’t make sense. It perhaps shouldn’t have happened this way. Yet, as we enter Week 10 of the high school football season the Eunice Bobcats are sitting in familiar territory.

Blue Jays set records, face tough Crusader contest

The St. Ed’s Blue Jay offense has set all sort of records in 2024. Last Friday night in a 61-0 win over Bolton Academy, it was the single-season record for team points scored with 448 in the nine games it’s played so far. The previous record holding team needed an extra three games to score 443.

Bengals advance in postseason play

LSU Eunice Men’s Soccer continued its strong late season form with a 2-0 win over Blinn College in the Gulf South District Quarterfinals on Wednesday at the Bengal Soccer Complex.

Lady Cats await state playoff pairing

This season has just been everything the Eunice High Lady Cats volleyball program could ask for as it closes out the regular season and moves into the postseason. However, the Lady Cats will need to recover from a pair of setbacks as they turn onto the road to the state tournament.

Fewer fish spills reported after Louisiana pushes pogy boats from coast

In 2022, a menhaden fishing ship and its net boats spilled about a million fish off the Louisiana coast, leaving the floating mass to rot in the summer sun. A few months later, another spill blanketed Louisiana beaches with an estimated 850,000 dead fish.
