They performed well on both the volleyball court and the classroom and several local athletes have been recognized for their accomplishments.
In a battle between rivals, St. Edmund exploded for 35 second half points as the Lady Jays grabbed a 58-40 win over Basile.
Her softball journey began at age 10 and on Wednesday St. Edmund senior pitcher Karleigh Soileau made her decision to where she will play college softball.
The Blue Jays finished third in district and St. Edmund placed 18 on the 5-1A All-Disitrict lists.
The Bobcats have a group of seniors who have been playing together since junior high.
Eunice High head coach Chad Andrepont hopes that experience helps the Bobcats this season.

STERLINGTON – The Church Point Bears ran into a buzz saw Friday in their Class 3A semifinal contest.
That buzz saw – Class 3A’s top-ranked Sterlington Panthers.
With seven seniors, the St. Edmund Blue Jays are expecting a successful season and a playoff spot.
Entering his third season with the Jays, head coach Nick Trosclair is excited about his team’s possibilities.
Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries enforcement agents cited four individuals for alleged recreational fishing violations in Vermilion Parish on Dec. 1.
The Eunice Bobcats opened the season with a 67-41 home win over Crowley.
The Bobcats jumped out to an 8-0 lead, aided by three pointers from Dedric Vigers and Terrance Shilow and bucket by Tyshun Joseph.
