LSUE women score wins in Texas

LSU Eunice Women’s Basketball continues to heat up as the temperatures drop on the Cajun Prairie as the Bengals took a pair of road games in Texas to start the week. The two wins helped LSUE draw even on the season with a 9-9 record with conference play just on the horizon.

Lady Jays overcome deficit for 44-42 victory over Grand Lake

By almost any measure, the St. Edmund Lady Jays basketball program has skated by nearly unchallenged nearly all season. At 14-3 heading into Tuesday’s non-district tilt with Grand Lake, they’d almost become accustomed to double-digit wins.

Lady Cats improve, but run hot and cold

The Eunice High Lady Cats are much improved over last season. When head coach Kassidi Thibodeaux took the helm a couple seasons ago, she inherited a winless program. Now in her third season, the effort and fight her team shows on a nightly basis has resulted in four wins so far this season.

2 La. hunters harvest bears where Teddy Roosevelt hunted

The recently concluded Louisiana black bear hunting season, administered by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF), produced an impressive harvest by 10 hunters in northeast Louisiana. For two of those hunters, Fisher Brown and Perry Pitre Jr.

St. Edmund wrestling making its mark on the mat

With the program still in its infancy stages, make no mistake about it, St. Ed’s wrestling program is alive and thriving under the tutelage of Shane LeBleu.

St. Edmund splits with Iota

There’s nothing quite like a local matchup in high school sports. The type where the kids may know each other. The effort ramps up. It’s more than a win or loss. Bragging rights are at stake and when that happens, the emotion ramps up as well. That was the scenario last Friday night as St.

LSUE uses fast start, strong finish to defeat Jones

LSU Eunice Women’s Basketball raced out to a big lead early before holding off Jones College 65-59 on Thursday at the HPRE Center.  The Bengals (7-9) swept the home-and-home series with the Bobcats.

LSUE Softball faces challenging 2025 slate

LSU Eunice Softball is set for a rugged spring schedule starting January 31 with the Mardi Gras Invitational in Youngsville. The Bengals have 14 games against teams that ended last season in the NJCAA rankings and play four opponents that were in their respective National Tournaments last spring.
