Bobcats chalk up 3rd straight win

There comes a time when a new coach comes on board that the rubber starts to meet the road between coach and team. That time may be beginning to happen for the Eunice High boys basketball team.

Lafayette vet harvests 696-pound La. black bear

Deron Santiny grew up in Louisiana hunting and fishing and thought he had seen just about everything. That is until he witnessed a 696-pound male Louisiana black bear come sauntering out of the Tensas Parish woods not far from where he was housed in a deer stand.

It will be a season of new beginnings in many ways for LSU Eunice Baseball as the Bengals embark on the 2025 regular season, set to begin on Jan. 24. The 2024 NJCAA Division II National Champions will not only move up to NJCAA Division I but is set to unveil its new state-of-the-art facility.

Lacassine, St. Edmund victorious in Holiday Shootout

St. Ed’s head coach Cade LeBlanc couldn’t be more proud of the school’s annual Kendall & Brad Fontenot Memorial Holiday Shootout, put on every year since 2020 during Christmas week.

Blue Jay footballers earn more honors

A banner year of accolades continued for the St. Ed’s Blue Jay football team this week, with nine players being named to the Louisiana Football Coaches Association’s Class 1A All-State team.
