BASILE – The seniors on the 2020 Bearcat team have advanced to the Class 1-1A state football quarterfinals three straight seasons.
As a program, Basile has advanced to the quarterfinals eight times in the past nine seasons.
It was only a scrimmage, but the Lady Jays and Lady Bobcats battled on the volleyball court Thursday at St. Edmund’s gym.
In close matches, St. Edmund earned a 3-1 win over Eunice High, 25-21, 22-25, 25-19 and 15-13.
For the first time since 1995, there will be a new head coach on the Bobcat sidelines.
But Eunice High interim head football coach Andre Vige hopes that is the only change for his team entering the 2020 season.
