St. Edmund Blue Jay Baseball honored senior players. The seniors presented their mothers (escorts) with flowers.
Rayne captured the 2019-20 boys basketball title and dominated the All-District 4-4A top honors as Leon Smith earned MVP honors and Darrell Caesar was named district Coach of the Year.
It was a sweep of the Class 1-A basketball championships as both North Central teams won state titles.
Eunice High placed three players on the All-District 4-4A list including senior Shaniya Toussaint as a first team selection.
Class 4-A champion LaGrange dominated the list as Jeriah Warren was named district MVP.
The North Central Lady Hurricanes captured the Class 1-A state championship with a 50-39 win over Merryville.
Friday the 13th always has its connections with things some people are afraid of – like black cats or walking under a ladder.
But last Friday is a day I will remember for a long time as well as all the area athletes.

LAKE CHARLES – After falling 14-0 to North Vermilion to begin District 4-4A play, the Lady Bobcats responded with a 15-0 mercy-rule victory over LaGrange.
