Lafleur joins EHS Sports Hall of Fame

John Lauris “Lawman” Lafleur was a legendary Bobcat basketball player. This week, he became the newest member of the Eunice High Sports Hall of Fame. A 1972 EHS graduate, Lafleur died on April 25, 2006.

The Bobcats improved to 4-4 on the season as Eunice earned a 28-7 non-district win over the Tioga Indians. The two defenses controlled the game early on as both teams were forced to punt on their first possessions.

Doucet joins EHS Sports Hall of Fame

Nicholas Doucet was a star pitcher on the Bobcats’ 1979 Class 3-A state championship team. Now he is the newest member of the Eunice High Sports Hall of Fame. Doucet went 10-3 during the championship season, winning all four playoff games, including a 4-3 victory over Pineville.

After earning its third win of the season, Eunice steps out of District 4-A play this week as the Bobcats entertain the Tioga Indians. In the Bobcats’ three wins this season, the Eunice (3-4) defense held its opponents to 18 points or less.

Brad Ceaser joins EHS Sports Hall of Fame

A three-sport star at Eunice High, Brad Ceaser is the newest member of the Bobcats’ Athletic Hall of Fame. Ceaser, a 1971 EHS graduate, played football, basketball and participated in track for the Bobcats. “It all started for me at Charles Drew,” Ceaser said.

Blue Jays soar past Hurricanes

The Blue Jays celebrated 2021 homecoming in fine fashion as St. Edmund rolled to a 56-24 District 5-1A win over the North Central Hurricanes. St. Ed’s (5-2, 1-1) will take on rival Sacred Heart of Ville Platte on Friday. The Trojans (6-1, 2-0) earned a 68-35 romp over Westminster Christian Academy.

The Bobcats jumped back into the District 4-4A race as Eunice earned a 35-12 win over Washington Marion. Eunice (3-4, 1-1) will entertain Tioga Friday in a non-district contest. Tioga (3-4) cruised to a 46-7 win over Bolton.
