Six Lady Cats earn All-District

After its most successful season in program history, Eunice High placed six Lady Bobcats on the volleyball All-District 2, Div. III list. Eunice set a school record at 22-9 overall and entered the playoffs as the No. 22 seed. The Lady Cats fell 25-15, 25-17 and 25-15 against No. 11 Haynes Academy.

Karr ends Bobcats’ season

ALGIERS – The Eunice coaches knew it would be a tough assignment to face top-seed Edna Karr in the second round of the Class 4-A playoffs. Karr proved worthy of its ranking as the Cougars cruised to a 53-7 win over the Bobcats.

For the fourth year in a row, the Bobcats advanced to the second round of the football playoffs as No. 16 Eunice rolled to a 41-14 win over the No. 17 DeRidder Dragons. Eunice (7-4) will now face No. 1 Edna Karr (9-0) who downed No. 32 Breaux Bridge, 43-8.

Jays face rival Sacred Heart to begin playoffs

The two teams know each other well and the Blue Jays want revenge over the Trojans. No. 12 St. Edmund will travel to No. 5 Sacred Heart in the first round of the Div. IV football playoffs. Sacred Heart (8-2) cruised to a 40-7 District 5-1A win over St. Edmund (6-4) on Oct. 22.
