The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8971 donated an American flag to the W.W. Stewart Elementary School in Basile. The flag will be displayed in the school’s new gym for the students’ Pledge of Allegiance that they recite every morning at the start of the day.

Highland Elementary students are utilizing their Leadership Folders this year as part of the school’s Leader in Me. On a recent Wiggy Wednesday, Principal Lorie LeDoux chose random students from each class to present their WIGS (Wildly Important Goals) in their Leadship Folders to her.
This week’s Student of the Week is Iyanna Hanchett, a senior at Eunice High School. Her mother is La’Quetta Hanchett.
