St. Landry Parish student to compete in National American Miss Pageant

OPELOUSAS–The St. Landry Parish School District would like to congratulate Anastasia M. Stevens for being crowned the 2019 National American Miss Louisiana. Anastasia is the daughter of Will and Monica Stevens of Eunice. She is a seventh grade student at Eunice Junior High School.

Pousson receives DAV Van Driver of the Year

Residential Garden of the Month selected

George Prejean at Liberty

The “Rendez-vous des Cajuns” Cajun Music Radio & TV show Saturday at the Liberty Center at 6 p.m. will have a performance by George Prejean & Cajun Redemption. Admission is $5. Show starts at 6 p.m. The Liberty opens at 4 p.m. Starting at 10 a.m.

Stay safe at amusement parks

I love going to a carnival fair with all the different rides available. My very favorite ride is the Ferris Wheel. I now find that fairs are even more enjoyable now that I have two grandsons. However, I use extreme caution when I allow them on fair rides.

Fruge, Vidrine wed during evening Nuptial Mass ceremony

St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Richard was the setting for the evening ceremony uniting Kimberlyn Brooke Fruge and John Paul Vidrine in Holy Matrimony. The Nuptial Mass ceremony was held on Saturday, July 6 at 7:30 p.m. with the Reverend Wayne Duet officiating.
