Most have heard the maxim “Families that pray together, stay together.” For some, prayer is more than just words..it is action. For theatre folk, the maxim might better be stated, “Families that 'do plays' together, stay together.

AgCenter partnership helps cancer survivors

Summer fun times at the splash pad

A summer cool fun time had at the Fairgrounds Splash Pad by 1-year-old Carter Osburn. Many kids are taking advantage of the cool water spraying during the hot summer day heating temperatures. Parents sit under a shaded covered pavilion close by the splash pad.

Free feeding program at Southeast Center

A Summer Feeding Program is on going at the Southeast Center from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Monday through Friday, however it is closed today. The free lunch program is sponsored by Restoring God’s Glory Ministries and funded by the state. The program is designed for children 18 years and younger.

Broussard at Liberty Saturday

The “Rendez-vous des Cajuns” Cajun Music Radio & TV show Saturday at the Liberty Center at 6 p.m. will have a performance by Gerald Broussard Jr., The Cajun Cowboy & The Stirrups. Admission is $5. Show starts at 6 p.m. The Liberty opens at 4 p.m. Starting at 10 a.m.

Birth Announcements

Dallas Richard Courtnei and Wesley Richard announce the birth of their son, Dallas Keith Richard, born at Acadian Medical Center on June 18 weighing 6 pounds and 13 ounces. Maternal grandparents are Wyatt Tate of Mamou and Jackie Vidrine of Mamou.
