Wetlands education featured at 4-H training

By Johnny Morgan, jmorgan@agcenter.lsu.edu ROBERT — Tangipahoa Parish 4-H members were taught lessons in wetlands ecology recently at the Shell Training Center near Hammond. The goal of the pilot program is to teach the students more about wetlands and the importance of the marsh and coastal areas.

StoryTime hour at Eunice Public Library

StoryTime hour was held Wednesday morning at the Eunice Public Library. Bobbie Bordelon, children’s librarian, read a book, “The Sun is My Favorite Star,” by Frank Asch.

Birth notes

Kayden Brooms Tiffany Hendrixson and Patrick Brooms of Oakdale announce the birth of their son, Kayden James Brooms, born at Acadian Medical Center on May 30 weighing 6 pounds and 6.5 ounces. Maternal grandparents are Angela Stanley and Billy Hendrixson of Oakdale.

Bulb & Blossom Business Garden of the Month

The Eunice Bulb & Blossom Garden Club presented the Business Yard of the Month marker to the Le Decor and Langley Mini Storage business complex located at 1649 W. Laurel. The owner of Langley Mini Storage is Lynn Langley. Owners of La Decor are Angie Aguillard, left, and Cheryl Manuel.

East Elementary students enjoy a field trip

East Elementary’s top AR first grade students were recently treated to a fun field trip at Peak Jump Park in Eunice. Students worked hard the entire school year in order to reach their AR goal and earn an invitation to the trip.

East Elementary held its final Super Celebration of the year recently to honor TICK (Totally In Control Kid) students who have achieved excellent behavior for the entire school year.

Benoit at Liberty Saturday
