Class Act Student of the Week

This week’s Student of the Week is Lainey Briggs, a senior at Eunice High School. Her parents are Scott and Nicky Briggs. If you had to live in another part of the world, where would you want to live and why? I would like to live near the East Coast because of the climate and scenery.

LaRecolte at Liberty Saturday

The “Rendez-vous des Cajuns” Cajun Music Radio & TV show Saturday at the Liberty Center at 6 p.m. will have a performance by LaRecolte. Admission is $5 at the door. Show starts at 6 p.m. The Liberty opens at 4 p.m. Starting at 10 a.m.

‘Bard of the South’ at St. Edmund Elementary

Rickey Pittman, often called, “Bard of the South, visited St. Edmund and spoke to the school’s second, third, fourth and fifth-graders. Pittman is an award-winning author, storyteller, and folk singer who has written and published many books and CDs.

Khalifa top academic student at UL Lafayette

Dahlia Khalifa, a recent graduate, was named as the outstanding academic student at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She was presented the prestigious President Ray Authement Award for having the highest scholastic average in the science curriculum. Khalifa chose to attend UL Lafayette.
