‘Bard of the South’ at St. Edmund Elementary

Rickey Pittman, often called, “Bard of the South, visited St. Edmund and spoke to the school’s second, third, fourth and fifth-graders. Pittman is an award-winning author, storyteller, and folk singer who has written and published many books and CDs.

Khalifa top academic student at UL Lafayette

Dahlia Khalifa, a recent graduate, was named as the outstanding academic student at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She was presented the prestigious President Ray Authement Award for having the highest scholastic average in the science curriculum. Khalifa chose to attend UL Lafayette.

Troop 425 Court of Honor recognized

On Oct. 18, 2018, Troop 425 honored Scout Bricen Leger for attaining the rank of Eagle Scout, the pinnacle rank in the Boy Scouts of America. Leger achieved the coveted rank after joining Troop 425 in 2011 and worked his way through the ranks in Scouting.
