Top readers honored at East Elementary

Students at East Elementary recently participated in the Lukemia and Lymphona Society’s Pennies for Patients. Students raised over $2,200 for local patients. The class that raised the most money was second graders in Carol Aguillard’s class.
This week’s Student of the Week is Robbi Palmer, a senior at Eunice High School. Her parents are Fran and Chad Lemelle.

The “Rendez-vous des Cajuns” Cajun Music Radio & TV show Saturday at the Liberty Center at 6 p.m. will have a performance by Sheryl Cormier & The Cajunettes.

Graduation is right around the corner and much is needed ahead of time for the newspaper’s special graduation edition.

Did you know proms have been going strong since the late 1800s? Typically St. Edmund and Eunice High celebrate their proms in April. St. Edmund will have its prom on April 7 and Eunice High students will attend prom on April 14.
Third grade students at East Elementary celebrated Pi Day by participating in Gator Pie activities. Their teacher Brandy Rozas read a book, “Alligator Pie.” Each student also had the opportunity to made their own alligator pie.
