Nylya Rideau Shaniqua and Travis Rideau of Mamou announce the birth of their daughter, Nylya Aurora Rideau, born at Acadian Medical Center on Jan. 29 weighing 5 pounds and 12.6 ounces. Maternal grandparents are Patricia Mitchell and Jon Thomas of Eunice.

‘PawRiffic’ students honored at Glendale Elementary

Glendale Elementary recognizes ‘PawRiffic’ students. ‘PawRiffic’ is a chosen honor by each teacher for good behavior. Each teacher choose two students each week, and the principal places their names in a drawing and she draws a handful and these students are rewarded with special treats.

LaRecolte at Liberty Saturday

The “Rendez-vous des Cajuns” Cajun Music Radio & TV show Saturday at the Liberty Center at 6 p.m. will have a performance by LaRecolte. Admission is $5 at the door. Show starts at 6 p.m. The Liberty opens at 4 p.m. Starting at 10 a.m.
