Louisiana Agriculture at Eunice Elementary

Aurdie Bellard, a member of the Rotary Club, paid a visit at Eunice Elementary to read to students. They celebrated Louisiana Agriculture in the classroom. The La. Farm Bureau initiated this program to educate Louisiana students about the importance of agriculture in their community.

St. Ed second graders learn more about city government

St. Edmund Elementary second graders recently took a field trip to Mayor Scott Fontenot’s office. In their Social Studies unit the students are studying about government leaders and Mayor Fontenot helped them to understand what his duties as a city mayor are.

ABC senior luncheon speaker

Acadian Baptist Center will host a Senior Adult luncheon at its campus near Richard on April 4. Above, speaker, Al Arnold, author of “Robert E. Lee’s Orderly,” will share the story of his great-great-grandfather, Turner Hall, Jr.

Birth Announcements

Greta LaCombe Keefen and Emily LaCombe of Eunice announce the birth of their daughter, Greta Camille LaCombe, born at Acadian Medical Center on March 12 weighing 9 pounds and 9.6 ounces. Maternal grandparents are Gail and Stephen LaJeune of Iota and Boyd and Jessica Douget of Mamou.

A Comedy of Tenors continues

Mike Bourgeois and Angie McBride of the The Eunice Players’ Theatre play “A Comedy of Tenors,” are shown at one of the scenes. The play, by Ken Ludwig and directed by Jody L. Powell continues today and Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. each evening. Admission is $15 for individual tickets for all ages.

First Baptist presents ‘Salvation’s Story’

The choir of First Baptist Church will present “Salvation’s Story”, an Easter musical at 7 p.m. Sunday. Everyone is invited and admission is free.
