Children’s librarian Bobbie Bordelon read a storybook, “Little Croc’s Purse,” by Lezzie Finlay during Wednesday’s StoryTime hour. Children also had the opportunity to make a crocodile craft and ate cookies for their snack.

Eunice Recreation Cheer Camp Clinic

The Eunice Recreation Complex sponsored a Cheer Camp Clinic this week at the Northwest Center. High school spirit team leaders from Eunice High and St. Edmund were on hand leading young girls all aspects of cheering.

Charles Drew High Class of 1963 celebrates 54th reunion

The Charles Drew High School class of 1963 recently gathered at the Southeast Neighborhood Center in Eunice to celebrate their 54th class reunion. The theme for the event was “Cowboys and Cowgirls making a Difference.”

Tenants at Goodhope Place enjoy July luncheon

Tenants at Goodhope Place Apartments were treated to a Fourth of July luncheon given by the complex. The menu consisted of barbeque hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and a drink.

The “Rendez-vous des Cajuns” Cajun Music Radio & TV show Saturday at the Liberty Center at 6 p.m. will feature a performance by Jackie Callier, Ivy Dugas & The Cajun Cousins.

Chicken soup and the common cold

Chicken soup seems to soothe cold symptoms. However, after reading the following, courtesy of Newspaper Metro, some people come down with colds more than once a year. Myself, colds normally attack my system in the winter months.
